A1: Mr. Copple
1. What’s your favorite subject to teach?
That’s a tough question; I’ll have to say it’s a tie. I love social studies and helping students learn about history in terms of the world, people, and significant events. But I also love seeing students do labs and get to work in the garden for science. The earth is an amazing place, and I think science helps us learn and question more about it, while social studies helps us look at ourselves as humans!
2. Why do you like teaching?
There are so many reasons! A main one is that I get to see students learn and grow inside the classroom, as well as outside the classroom. In my view, it’s much better to invest my time in helping to develop our youth for the future compared to just working for myself, a corporation, and money. Another key reason is because I love education! From elementary school all the way to College, I always enjoyed learning and working with other students along the way!
3. If you could have any other job, what would it be?
If I could have any job in the world… I would love to be a non-profit international news reporter! I think reporting things that matter and being able to travel would be a blast! I also think it would be amazing to experience, learn, and inform others of all the different issues and cultures around the world.
4. When I was a 5th grader, what did I want to be when I grow up?
I always wanted to be a Late Night Show Host or a Sports News Anchor! I guess I always wanted a mic in my hand!
5. What is your favorite color?
Green! To me it represents nature, gardens, and this beautiful earth we live on. Also, growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I grew up seeing a lot of green! More Christmas trees than any other state!
